On September 24, 2015 at approximately 2:20 am, a Fountain Valley Police Officer was on patrol in the area of Newhope Street and Heil Avenue, when he heard an audible vehicle alarm begin to sound. He then saw a vehicle with no lights on speeding away. The Officer began following the vehicle and eventually made an enforcement stop. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects, Abraham Lopez, 11/24/77, of Whittier and Benny Gutierrez, 6/10/74, of Chino. Officers confirmed a vehicle burglary had just occurred at the location of the audible vehicle alarm, and that several pieces of property were missing from the vehicle. Officers located various pieces of property inside the suspect vehicle, which matched the missing property from the vehicle that had just been burglarized. Lopez and Gutierrez were both arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property. Lopez and Gutierrez were booked into Orange County Jail; bail was set for $75,000 for both. Incident # 15-40606.
