Congratulations to Mitchell Saalfeld for being recognized by the California Parks and Recreation Society District 10 as the 2019 Most Valuable part-time employee. The top part-time employees from around Orange County were nominated for this prestigious award for their outstanding contributions to their agency and community. Mitchell began his career with the City of Fountain Valley in February 2008. Since the beginning, he has made a difference in the community and brings a unique passion to his job. Currently a Recreation Specialist, Mitchell helps assist with special events and athletic fields at the sports park. Mitchell is always ready to take on any job responsibility; big or small. His hard work behind the scenes makes it possible for the department to successfully run programs such as; movies in the park, softball tournaments, the annual tree lighting event and Camp Out (and many others!). Mitchell’s steadfast dedication to his job has been an asset to the Community Services Department and the residents he serves. He always comes to work with a can-do attitude and will not leave until the job is finished. Mitchell is extremely deserving of this award and we are grateful he is a part of our team! Mayor Nagel also presented Mitch with a Certificate of Recognition at the city council meeting on April 29. Thank you, Mitch, for making life better in Fountain Valley! #FVPROUD
