[ARCHIVED] Man with a Gun Arrest

50th Anniversary Badge

Officers formed a perimeter and observation post. Officers learned the male suspect was now the solo occupant of a silver Hyundai sedan parked adjacent to the mobile home in question, and the female subject was now back inside her residence. Officers telephoned the female subject who stated the male inside the sedan was a gang member who displayed a handgun in a threatening manner and verbally threatened bodily harm to her.

After failed attempts to establish telephonic communication with the suspect, Officers utilized a West County SWAT Bearcat armored vehicle to approach the suspect vehicle. A felony vehicle extraction team gave the suspect commands to surrender, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was found inside the suspect vehicle, along with a large quantity of narcotics.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jimmy Guerra, of Whittier, was booked into the Orange County Jail for making terrorist threats, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and narcotics related offenses.
