On April 7, 2019, at 1:06 a.m., FVPD Officers set up surveillance at a business in the 11000 block of Warner Avenue after there was an attempted commercial burglary to a dental office in the area. During the surveillance, Officers saw two suspects arrive in the area. The suspects broke out the rear stucco wall of the dental office and made entry. The suspect were later identified as 26-year old Tevin Barnes of Anaheim and 26-year old Derek Bryan of Anaheim. Barnes was taken into custody as they exited the business but Bryan fled from Officers into a nearby area. Officers set up a perimeter with the assistance of the Santa Ana Police Department and OCSD airship, Duke. During the search, Bryan was located hiding in a planter and surrendered to FVPD K9 Kimbo. Barnes and Bryan were both arrested for burglary, conspiracy, and obstructing.
The dental office they were burglarizing is next door to a pharmacy and it is believed the pharmacy was the target of the burglary. Both Barnes and Bryan are career criminals and were both recently arrested together for a pharmacy burglary in Westminster on October 11, 2018. They are both currently out on bail for that case. A records check revealed Tevin Barnes is on CDC Parole for Robbery and Derek Bryan is on CDC Parole for Murder.
