[ARCHIVED] Turn off your Sprinklers, and Enjoy the Rain!

sprinklers notice

Storms have delivered plenty of rainfall, with more expected in the next few weeks

Remember: Watering during and within 48 hours of significant rainfall is prohibited.

Watering during rain events provides no benefit to lawns or plants. Instead, the water flows off private property into streets becoming Urban Water Runoff that can wash litter, pet waste, motor oil, pesticides and other pollutants into the storm drain where it flows untreated into our oceans.

So Fountain Valley, be sure to turn off your sprinkler system within 48 hours of significant rainfall!

Anyone who violates regulations will be issued a warning for the first violation and will be subject to fines of up to $1,000 for continued violations.

For complete details and specific construction related restrictions, refer to FVMC 14.18.040.
