HLB has been spreading in Los Angeles and Orange Counties where more than 500 infected trees have been found and removed. The California Department of Food and Agriculture, United States Department of Agriculture, Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Program are continuing to ask all California residents – 60 percent of whom own citrus trees – to protect California citrus and their backyard citrus trees by searching for signs of the pest and disease.
With the increase in finds, CPDPP have produced a 30-second Public Service Announcement that provides an introduction to the issue, a description of how to inspect your citrus trees and a description of how to report symptoms of the pest or disease. Check out the public service announcement below.
