City Council Study Session 

The City Council received an updated Arterial Median Landscape Plan and provided comments of planting options.

City Council Regular Meeting

There were four presentations at the Council Meeting:

  1. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Hyundai for the generosity and support of the city.
  2. The TET Festival post event summary presentation was given by Rob Frizzelle, highlighting the success of the event and the partnership with the county.
  3. Mayor Vo presented Supervisor Andrew Do with a proclamation celebrating the successful partnership between the Supervisor, County staff and the City to present a successful TET Festival Lunar New Year event.
  4. The Fountain Valley Community Foundation recapped there 5k event and awarded money to the top three organizations:

           1st Place - Fulton Middle School – Raised $1,240 for their school

           2nd Place – FVHS Boys Soccer Team

           3rd Place – Masuda Middle School

Under the Administrative Items that the City Council was presented with, the City Council approved the recommendation from staff for the repair of the City Hall Entry Fountain and Water Feature. The plan entails a reduced water feature with the remainder of the fountain converting to landscaped plantings. A new Grocery Outlet to be located at 18920 Brookhurst Street was granted their Beer and Wine license and the first reading of the Animal Control Ordinance which adopts the County’s Animal control rules was approved and will go back for second reading and approval on March 20th.

The City Mangers Employment Agreement was continued until a future date.

Lastly, the meeting was adjourned in the memory of Kevin Stevens, who was an integral part of the Palm Island Senior Center.
