On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at 5:34 A.M., Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision on Warner Avenue west of Euclid Street.  The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking on Warner Avenue when he was struck by a gray 1988 Mitsubishi truck.  The driver of the truck remained at the scene and alcohol/drug impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.  The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.  The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  The Fountain Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau and the Orange County Coroner’s Office responded to conduct the investigation.  Witnesses to the collision are encouraged to call the Fountain Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau at 714-593-4654.  Incident 17-47309
