[ARCHIVED] Make Sure You Have a Plan

review-emergency-plan_tw

Each week this month has been assigned a different theme to ensure people are prepared for any disaster or emergency. This week’s theme is “Make a Plan". Make an emergency plan today and practice it with your family. If you already have a plan, you should review your plan to see if any changes need to be made due to the current pandemic.

Now is a great time to make a fire escape/evacuation plan for your home. Make sure each family member knows two ways out of every room. Remember to consider pets as well as any family member with mobility issues during your home escape plan. The plan should be practiced at least twice a year.

In addition to a home escape plan, family members can download a group texting app so your entire crew can keep in touch before, during and after an emergency. A disaster or emergency may strike when you and your family are not together or are away from home. Make sure everyone knows where to meet when not at home in the event of an emergency. You can also sign up for local emergency alerts by registering at AlertOC.com.
