The Orange County Registrar of Voters will certify the November 8 election results by December 8th as required. The City has adjusted the meeting schedule based upon this timeline so the official results will be implemented at the December 13 City Council Meeting which will also be City Council Reorganization night. Once the November 8 election results have been certified, it is anticipated that staff will work with City Council in drafting a “Measure HH Implementation Plan” that will include all of the elements such as “oversight” and “accountability” to be adopted by the City Council after the first of the year. In terms of the oversight committee, City Council will define the selection process, the reporting role, the timeline in which the committee meets. The sales tax increase will go into effect in April 2017.
