[ARCHIVED] Landscape Maintenance in Water Conservation Times

City watering days have now been expanded to allow all residential properties to use their sprinklers on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 7 pm and 7 am. This additional day of watering allows the city to meet state water conservation regulations while giving residents another day to ensure their landscaping remains healthy and vibrant.

It is important that you maintain your landscaping. Weeds and dead vegetation should be removed on a regular basis. Grass lawns should be kept trimmed and any vegetation growing over the sidewalk or streets should be removed.

Dirt front yards are prohibited. Properties with dirt yards should install appropriate plant material or artificial turf. You can also use crushed rock, redwood chips, mulch, pebbles, stone and decorative pavers in a limited amount to meet landscaping requirements. If you are re-planting your yard from dirt the city does allow a 30 day establishing period so you may water daily to ensure your new plants thrive. If you have any questions please contact the Planning Department at 714-593-4425. More information is available on our Website at the link below.
