On August 26, 2019, undercover Detectives from the Fountain Valley Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit obtained information regarding a subject, Tyler Conklin (30), who was wanted on a no bail PRCS probation violation warrant. Detectives initiated a surveillance on Conklin who, with the assistance of the Costa Mesa Police Department, was taken into custody at Harbor Blvd. and Wilson St. in the City of Costa Mesa. Conklin was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by his girlfriend, Lauren Billing (39). At the time of his arrest, Conklin was wearing an empty holster in his waistband. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun under Conklin’s seat. The vehicle also contained methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a mason jar of suspected GHB.
Detectives followed up with a probation search at Conklin’s residence in the 21000 block of Barbados Circle in the City of Huntington Beach. The following items were recovered from a room Conklin was renting at the house: 6 handguns, 32 magazines, approximately 2,000 rounds of ammunition, over a half pound of methamphetamine, 21 grams of fentanyl, and a variety of additional controlled substances.
Conklin was arrested on multiple felony charges including possession of narcotics with intent to sell, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded concealed firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and the outstanding warrant. Conklin is being held at the Orange County Jail with no bail.
Billing was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell and a misdemeanor warrant. She is being held at the Orange County Jail on $26,000 bail.
