The rainwater harvesting class will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. and will cover the benefits of rain barrels, installation, rebate information and water conservation techniques. Pre-purchased rain barrels will be available for pick up from 9 to 11 a.m.
Thanks to the City of Fountain Valley’s contribution of $10 per barrel, Fountain Valley residents can pre-purchase rain barrels online for $75 each (regularly $85 each) by visiting www.rainbarrelsintl.com and clicking on “City of Fountain Valley” under the EVENTS tab. Each rain barrel, up to 4 barrels per household, is eligible for a $75 rebate from the Municipal Water District, making the rain barrels FREE after rebate. Only rain barrels purchased online by April 20, 2016, are guaranteed to be available for pick up at the event, and proof of Fountain Valley residency, such as a driver’s license or water bill, is required at time of pick up.
