On April 1, 2016 at approximately 4:35PM, Fountain Valley Police Officers were dispatched to a call of graffiti vandalism occurring at Warner and the 405 Freeway. When Officers arrived on scene, they located the male suspect sitting on the freeway guardrail holding a marker. Along the guardrail, Officers found fresh graffiti which was in the same color as the marker the suspect was holding. During a pat-down search of the suspect, Officers discovered a large hunting knife in a sheath, which was concealed under the suspect’s shirt. Officers also found prescription medication for which the subject did not have a prescription, a usable quantity of methamphetamine and a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine in his possession. Ryan Tatara (28) from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was subsequently arrested for carrying a concealed dagger, vandalism, and possession of a controlled substance. Tatara was booked into Orange County Jail; bail is set at $20,000.

Persons are encouraged to call 911 and report graffiti vandalism; there is a reward of up to $500 made available to reporting parties upon an offender's conviction.
