Fountain Valley’s Sewer and Storm Drain Division is kicking off the new year early with the arrival of a new Vactor 2110i Sewer Cleaner truck. The vactor truck will be responsible for providing routine scheduled sewer and storm drain maintenance for the City’s 133 miles of sewer mains, 70 miles of storm drains, 780 storm drain catch basins, 136 bio filters, and 2 storm drain pump stations. In addition to routine maintenance, the vactor truck will clear sewer and storm drain blockages, perform hydro excavation during water line and sewer line repairs, and clean up sanitary sewer overflows and fire debris runoff on an emergency basis.
Upgrades in this vactor truck include a rapid deployment boom that telescopes out 10’ and extends the debris hose down 15’ eliminating the need for additional tubes, a larger water tank with a capacity of more than 3,000 gallons, a vacuum debris capacity of 12 cubic yards, and a pump delivery system of 100 gallons per minute. These new features make it a reliable, efficient and powerful vehicle that will help keep the City’s sewers and storm drains flowing for many years to come.
If you see the sewer and storm drain crew out and about with the new vactor truck, give them a friendly wave to let them know you appreciate the work they do.
