Jane will lead the conversation, but this is a great opportunity to share your thoughts and discuss topics that may inspire you. Golden Years Peer Support Group with Bill Nelson
The Center at Founders Village has an in-person or virtual peer support services! Services are offered on Mondays by appointment. The program offers individual, group, and couple sessions. Topics to be discussed include anxiety, loneliness, conflict resolution, family relationships, physical activity, food, and nutrition. Senior Socials Services Program - Information and Referral Program
The Center at Founders Village has a new Senior Social Services Program that focuses on information and referral! This program began in November 2020, and is helping seniors make connections to life-sustaining services such as nutrition, housing, transportation, and many more services! Do you need assistance and find that having someone with a network and connections would be extremely helpful? Schedule an appointment to meet with our social services team. All services are offered by appointment only and may be scheduled by calling (714) 593-4446.

Join West Coast University, dental hygiene students, as they promote awareness regarding the link between oral and systemic health. Come learn about the oral effects of medication, implementation of proper oral hygiene techniques, and prosthesis care. Participants will received dental hygiene products free of cost.

Do you have enough laughter in your life? Did you know that you can turn laughing into exercise? Join us for Laughter Yoga where we will combine laughter with yoga breathing to make exercise fun! Yoga mats are not required, as exercises are conducted in chairs. Presentation is presented by Independence at Home, a SCAN community service.

Join us for a Virtual Health Eating Cooking Demonstration with Evelyn Yanke, Health Educator with Optum Medical Group previously Healthcare Partners. Evelyn will be creating a delicious Black Bean Salad; it’s plant based, vegan and gluten free, so it works for a variety of diets! As a BONUS, we will provide a Cooking Kit with recipe ingredients to the first 25 seniors that register by March 16!

Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities – Officially Launches Spotlight Series #1
The Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities is excited to recognize individuals in the community who make a difference. Meet Fountain Valley resident, Rachel Osterbach. Rachel enjoys watching movies, doing jigsaw puzzles, and listening to music. Check out the Fountain Valley Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities Instagram and Facebook pages to view Rachel’s video introduction!
Rachel is an advocate for individuals in Fountain Valley who have disabilities, and has increased and raised awareness by speaking at "Concerts in the Park" championing the Special Olympics and presented before the Fountain Valley Community Foundation Executive Board seeking funding for a bowling program for individuals with disabilities. She’s also spoken on behalf of the Fountain Valley Host Town Committee for the 2015 International Special Olympics World Games to raise funds to house the delegation from the Netherlands and to "Turn Fountain Valley Orange."
Her favorite thing about the Fountain Valley community is the dances that are put on by the City of Fountain Valley Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities.
Rachel is proud of becoming independent and moving into her own apartment. She is also proud of being a main cast member on the Emmy-Award winning show, “Born This Way.” She is an inspirational speaker and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
She has had a full-time office job for more than 15 years, and was inducted into her high school’s Hall of Fame. She has also been a Special Olympics athlete for 30 years!
As if that weren’t enough, Rachel makes an impact in her community by helping people with disabilities be accepted and included into the community and society in general. She is also a Governor's appointee to the State Council on Developmental Disabilities, Orange County Chapter, where she has served for more than six years as a self-advocate for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities – Virtual Dance – Friday, April 9, 2021 7-8:30 p.m.
The Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities is hosting their 4th virtual Zoom! Dance on Friday, April 9 from 7-8:30 p.m.! The dance is open to ages 18 and older, and is for persons with disabilities who enjoy dancing, music, and raffle prizes! Registration is open now through Wednesday, April 7. RSVP by email FVAdvisoryCommittee@FountainValley.org. Registered participants will be emailed login information on Thursday, April 8.
