In January 2021, County of Orange Second Supervisorial District allocated $125,000 to the City of Fountain Valley to support businesses within the district impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. City Council directed City staff to provide up to $5,000 grant for eligible businesses and provide priority to businesses that were/have been closed due to the State Stay-at-Home orders. The City plans to open and accept applications for the COVID-19 Related Small Business Emergency Relief Grant Program in February 2021. A lottery system will be implemented to prioritize applications.
The program will provide a $5,000 grant through the Small Business Emergency Relief Grant Program to small businesses needing financial assistance in overcoming the temporary loss of revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is based on the availability of funds, program guidelines and submission of all required information and supporting documentation with priority for those businesses that were/are closed due to the State orders. The grant may be used for working capital to cover the day-to-day business operating expenses, or other similar expenses that occur in the ordinary course of operations. For additional information on the program guidelines, please visit the City website at www.fountainvalley.org and select the Business tab or contact Maggie Le, Assistant to the City Manager, at (714) 593-4412.
