Community Partners and Participants,
At this time, the Recreation and Community Services Department will be taking the necessary steps to ensure public access to essential services while adhering to the recommendations below to limit potential exposure and community spread of the COVID-19 Virus. The state recommendations include postponing or cancelling large gatherings of 50 people or more, postponing or cancelling smaller gatherings in venues that do not allow social distancing, and limiting gatherings of high-risk individuals to no more than 10 people, at least through March 31.

The Recreation Center will remain open at this time. The Senior Center will be closed for nonessential programs and activities.
Congregate Meal service provided by Senior Serv will remain active with an amended service delivery model. Home cook/microwave meals will be provided onsite for participants to take home. Home delivered meals will continue as well. Hop On Senior Transportation will remain active.
Contract classes scheduled to end by March 20 will be permitted to operate through their scheduled end date. However, we will work with any contractors or participants on a prorated refund should they wish to cancel their classes effective immediately. Upcoming Spring Contract Class schedules will be addressed following the recommended postponement date of March 31 or as the situation progresses.
The following programs will be cancelled/postponed effective March 14 until further guidance is provided by the CDPH or OCHCA*;
• Senior Special Events, Groups and Classes hosted at The Center at Founders Village with 10 or more participants ages 60
o St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon o Senior Club
o Bridge Clubs o Exercise and Social Clubs o Contract Classes (after March 20)
o Senior Softball League
• City Wide Special Events and Facility Rentals with more than 50 participants without the necessary space for the recommended social distancing;
o Coaches Vs. Kids End of Season Basketball Game
o Youth Basketball Skills Clinic
Recreation & Community Services Department
o Easter Egg Hunt o Ragnar Relay
*Other events and programs may be cancelled as the situation unfolds or amended recommendations are made.
Private events scheduled at indoor and outdoor City facilities (such as facility rentals, church services and sports leagues) may continue at the discretion of the organizers pending they adhere to the states recommendations.
