Anthony Galaviz James Miller
There are two new additions to the Fountain Valley Fire Department. FVFD recently hired Firefighter/Paramedic James Miller and Firefighter/Paramedic Anthony Galaviz.
James Miller was born and raised in Huntington Beach, attended school in Fountain Valley and graduated from Fountain Valley High School. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fullerton in Public Relations/Communications. Pursuing a career in the fire service in Fountain Valley was his primary goal. He worked with CARE Ambulance for three years and also worked as a reserve firefighter, serving the residents of Fountain Valley in both roles. He became certified as a paramedic through Saddleback College and worked as a private medic in Riverside before joining Fountain Valley. James is excited to work for the city where he grew up and not only make Fountain Valley a “Nice Place to Live” but also a nice place to work.
Anthony Galaviz was born and raised on the Yakima Indian Reservation in a small town named Toppenish in the State of Washington. He moved to California to attend Concordia University, Irvine where he competed in swimming and track & field. Prior to finding his true passion for firefighting and emergency medical services, Anthony received his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. Anthony worked for CARE Ambulance as an EMT prior to completing both his Fire and Paramedic Academies. He was drawn to the Fountain Valley Fire Department for the comradery and family oriented firefighters, the support the city provides for its firefighters and the great community of Fountain Valley. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Erin, their dog and friends. Some of his favorite activities include camping, hiking or anything to do with the water. Anthony and his wife are so happy to be a part of the Fountain Valley Fire Department and can't wait for everything that's in store for them over the next 30 years.
