In recognition of its ongoing commitment to its community forest, the City of Fountain Valley has been named a “Tree City USA” city for the third year in a row. This prestigious national program, sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, recognizes environmental improvement and higher levels of tree care in Tree City USA communities.
Fountain Valley residents who are interested in assisting with the City’s reforestation efforts, increasing the curb appeal of their homes and beautifying their neighborhoods can arrange to have a parkway tree planted in front of their homes. For just $35, the City will purchase, deliver and plant a new parkway tree. Interested residents can stop by the Public Works counter in City Hall, located at 10200 Slater Avenue, or call 714-593-4433 for more information.
