The Fountain Valley Community Foundation and the Recreation and Community Services Department will be holding an E-Waste and Shredding event at the Recreation Center on Saturday, October 20. This is a free service offered to residents to properly dispose of their e-waste and help divert waste from landfills. Shredding will be from 9 a.m. till noon and E-Waste will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Note: Limit of 3 boxes per family for paper shredding. Acceptable household e-waste items include televisions, PC systems, laptops, monitors, home entertainment systems, cell phones, keyboards, DVD and VCR players, audio devices, and loose wires in working condition or not. Items not accepted are fluorescent lamps, microwaves, vacuums, household batteries, medical equipment, small appliances, printers/fax machines and cooling units such as refrigerators.
