Former Councilmember Larry Crandall was appointed as City Councilmember at the February 6 City Council Meeting after Councilmember Mark McCurdy resigned from his seat on the City Council as of January 15. Larry Crandall was elected to City Council from 1998 to 2012. Larry was Mayor in 2001, 2005, and 2010.

Larry has called many places home. Though born in Illinois, he spent some of his childhood in Missouri and California. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was stationed in Texas, Thailand (during the Vietnam War) and Florida where he was honorably discharged in 1974. Larry moved back to California and has called Fountain Valley home ever since.

Larry and his wife, Sandra, have raised three children: Erica, Jillian and Mark. They now are proud grandparents of three grandsons: Clayton, Steven and Brandon.
