PARK PROJECT MAKING THE GRADE

August 31, 2007 — With the demolition having been completed, the contractor has been moving the earth the last couple weeks. Several areas have been rough graded and some areas are approaching their final grade. In a City with an otherwise flat topography, the park contains some nice relief elements giving character to the park. In fact, the City may have its first hills. The front parking lot by the Rec Center building is very near final grade. Many of the parking lots as well as the central spine road have been cut and graded to a point where one can get a general sense of what these components will eventually look like. Much of the material piled up in the back 23 acres has been scraped and re-utilized. At this point, the project is in need of more material. All involved are on a furious search for good dirt.

It is anticipated that the grading operation will be complete within the next three weeks. Beginning next week, trenching for utilities will commence. At this point, the contractor is on schedule and all is moving forward at a good pace with good results.
