January 11, 2008 — ValleyCrest Landscape Development is progressing with the Fountain Valley Recreation Center Master Plan Expansion. Both the existing 55-acre area and the 23-acre expansion area are well under way and the new park is taking shape.
The contractor has installed about 90% of the curb and gutter on the existing 55-acre area. This includes the new parking lots and the main park road. The remainder of the curb and gutter, sidewalk and mow curbs will be installed during the months of January and February. The irrigation and park lighting system installations are also continuing throughout the existing park area.
Within the 23-acre expansion area, the contractor has over 50% of the ball field fencing posts installed. The buildings are continuing with the wall construction. The footings, slab and rough utilities are all complete.
The storm drain, sewer and water improvements throughout both the existing and expansion areas are about 90% complete. With the completion of these work items, the park can be fine graded and landscape work can begin. |
