COMMERCIAL BURGLARY ARRREST

On February 28, 2017, at approximately 3:42 a.m., a Fountain Valley Police Officer was on patrol in the commercial strip mall of 18010 Newhope Street, where he saw an occupied vehicle with all the lights turned off, parked near Cancun Fresh Mexican Restaurant. The Officer identified the occupant as Miguel Angel Munozmerino (28) from Garden Grove. While the Officer was conducting his investigation, the burglary alarm for Cancun Fresh Mexican Restaurant activated. Additional Officers arrived to investigate the alarm. Suspect Jose Daiel Vazquez (28) from Garden Grove, attempted to flee from inside the business, but was detained by Officers. During this investigation, the Police Department received a call to report a burglary at Jamba Juice, located at 18511 Brookhurst Street. Security video at Jamba Juice tied both Munozmerino and Vazquez to the burglary. 

Munozmerino was arrested for commercial burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and an active warrant. Vazquez was arrested for burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of stolen property. Both Munozmerino and Vazquez were booked into Orange County Jail.
