The Youth Basketball Program is offered to children ages 8 -13 during the summer and winter seasons. Participants learn basketball fundamentals and good sportsmanship while improving skills and having fun in an organized league.
Teams are divided into 3 Divisions by participants' birth year:
Division A: 2003-2004
Division B: 2005-2006
Division C: 2007-2008
Each player receives a team shirt with their registration and each team is guaranteed 8 games. Participants will be able to practice no more than 3 hours a week. Games are played Friday evenings and Saturdays at the Recreation Center.
The Mini-Mites Basketball Program is offered to children ages 6-7 during the summer and winter seasons. It is a 6-week instructional program where kids will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting, team work, and sportsmanship.
The program is played on the Recreation Center's outdoor courts every Saturday for 1 hour. The program uses lowered baskets and a smaller ball. Each player will receive a t-shirt and award at the end of the season.
